Whangaparaoa College Music Information evening

On Thursday 27th October, Whangaparaoa College will be holding a Music information evening in their auditorium, between 6pm and 7.30pm.

Everyone is welcome and there will be opportunities to hear the school bands play, choirs sing and meet the music teachers. You can also try out the instruments in which lessons are offered at the college.

There is also the opportunity to find out about and sign up for our Year 7 Band Programme, which has been running successfully for two years now.

TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS YEAR 6
If your child is enrolled to attend Whangaparaoa College in 2017 we would like to advise that from Monday 26 September 2016 uniforms will be available to be purchased online via a specialised school uniform shop run by NZUniforms at www.nzuniforms.com
Uniform can also be purchased 6 days a week, weekdays 9am - 5pm and Saturday 9am - 1pm, from the NZUniform shop at 19 Orbit Drive Albany. All major credit cards and WINZ payments are accepted.  NZUniforms also run a Uniform Club which is a great way to save for your uniform purchases if you wish to make regular payments. 

To assist you with sizing for your child we will be opening the current uniform shop onsite at Whangaparaoa College in the upcoming school holidays on Monday 26 & Tuesday 27 September from 10am - 3pm.  Limited stock will be available for purchase if you wish.

There will also be a PopUp Uniform shop onsite at Whangaparaoa College sometime in January prior to school starting in 2017 (dates to be confirmed).

Thinking Caps Holiday Programme

Thinking Caps are running a maths and a reading and writing holiday programme.  These will be held at our Thinking Caps office at 6A David Sidwell Place, Stanmore Bay.  Maths will run week one Tues 27th, Weds 28th, Thurs 29th Sept and reading and writing week two Tues 4th, Weds 5th, Thurs 6th.  The sessions are 9.30am till 10.30am for years 3 and 4 and 11am till 12pm for years 5 and 6.  Cost is $114 for the three days.

Sport Gulf Harbour - Mixed Tag Registering NOW

Mixed Tag registering NOWEmail Bridgette by Friday 16th September to register for the 2016/17 Tag season.
Tag is played at Raiders Rugby League Grounds (next to Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre) and the season spans Friday 28th October 2016 - Friday 10th March 2017 with a break over the Christmas period.
You can enter your own team through SGH or we will create one for you. There is a maximum of 12 children per team with 8 on the field at any one time. Each team must have at least 3 girls with at least 2 girls on the field at any one time.
Cost is:
$35 per individual;
$60 for 2 children from same family; or 
$90 for a family of 3 or more children. 
All prices include SGH uniform hire and we also provide the Tag belts at the start of each game. Note: if you are not already an annual SGH member you will also need to add $10 per child for a SGH term membership.

Summer Soccer for boys and girls
 We are also taking registrations for 2016 summer soccer, which runs in Term 4 from Monday 17th October until Monday 12th December. Matches are played at Stanmore Bay opposite the Leisure Centre and everyone is welcome.
Years 1&2 and 3&4 play 5 a-side (minimum of 7 per team)
Years 5&6 and 7&8 play 7 a-side (minimum of 9 per team)
 The cost is just $50 per player, which includes SGH uniform hire. Once again, if you are not a SGH annual member, remember to add $10 for the term membership fee.

Whangaparaoa 2030 – Roadshow

The Whangaparaoa Peninsula Community Forum are going to be running a Roadshow in February/March 2016.  This will be a series of interactive public displays to engage the wider community in a conversation about the future of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula and what we can do to work toward the future with a collective vision.

These conversations will be further adding to those had by key stakeholders at the Whangaparaoa 2030 Workshop held in November last year.
